Transform your life with the power of gentle strength

Why this Tai chi is different

I have heard from many people trying Tai Chi for the first time that it is too hard. They have been taking classes at centers where there is an emphasis on perfection. These centers typically teach 24-form Yang style Tai Chi.

I used to teach this style. It is beautiful and rewarding, yet requires much time and patience to learn. The basic form takes one to two months to perfect. With too much emphasis on perfection, the mind is so engaged that you are not free to enjoy the feeling of movement. Additionally, many movements are prohibitively difficult for students with limited mobility.

For these reasons I now teach Tai Chi and Qigong in an adapted style that is quickly learned and enjoyable. The emphasis is on feeling the movement of internal energy, creating confidence in balance, and learning in a way that builds on small wins for a sense of accomplishment.
